Cigna Coverage Availability & Fees
With Cigna dental insurance, you are free to see both in-network and out-of-network dentists, but you’ll save more when you visit an in-network provider like Fairfax Dental Group.
Most PPO plans follow the same format, making it easy for you to understand which treatments are covered, and at what percentage:
- 100% of the cost for preventive care, which typically includes two checkups and cleanings per year (or every six months).
- 80% of the cost for any treatment considered a minor procedure.
- 50% of the cost for any treatment considered a minor procedure.
Additionally, your PPO plan may also be subject to the following when you visit a Cigna dentist in Fairfax:
Deductible – This is the dollar amount you’ll be responsible for out of pocket before your Cigna coverage is effective. In most cases, preventive care is not included in the deductible.
Annual Maximum – This is the maximum dollar amount Cigna will cover each year.
Waiting Period – This is amount of time you’ll need to wait before your Cigna benefits are officially activated. In most cases, this is only one to two weeks after your enrollment date.
