Fairfax Implant Supported Dentures by Dr. Brenda Young & Dr. Marjun Ayati - Teeth Replacement Options

Dental implants are the current standard for smile rehabilitation. With their stability and aesthetic appeal, it is no wonder that they have been integrated into full-mouth restoration efforts through implant supported dentures and All-on-4®. In an effort to provide patients with these reliable alternatives to traditional dentures, our team at Fairfax Dental Group offers these treatments to help you achieve your ideal smile.

What are Implant Supported Dentures?

Implanted—or retained—dentures are prosthetics that function much the same way as traditional dentures, yet have the added support of dental implants. The body of implants are made from ADA-approved titanium, allowing them to be absorbed into the jawbone. Once implants are placed, they fuse to the bone, acting like the root of a natural tooth. The titanium posts stimulate the jaw in the same way as the natural root of a tooth, preventing the loss of bone shape and density in the jaw.

These dentures will snap in to place over what is known as the abutment. The dentures from our Fairfax implant supported denture provider are specially made to fit the placement of your implants, allowing additional support and comfort, all the while looking like a bright, natural smile.

With the additional stability of implants, you no longer need to worry about an awkward bite, or embarrassing dental slips out of place. While stable, these dentures are also removable, allowing for convenient cleaning and maintenance.
Candidates for Implanted Dentures
Implants require a certain amount of bone density to be placed, and are therefore not ideal if you have already experienced jaw resorption or bone loss. Patients will also need to be free of periodontal disease to facilitate the healthy absorption of the implants into the bone.

The All-on-4® implanted denture is an alternative for patients who have already suffered jawbone loss. The implants of the All-on-4® treatment are able to be placed at an angle, allowing those who have less bone mass in their jaws to qualify for treatment. Like retained dentures, this treatment is made using materials that will not only restore proper bite function, but allow you an aesthetic smile.
While your dental implants heal and your All-on-4® teeth are fabricated, Dr. Ayati also provides patients with fixed temporary bridges. These temporaries will allow you to have a full functional arch from the end of your first appointment.
